I have learned a lot from going through the witness statement process in real cases to date and from the HMRC litigators on those cases, but this additional training I think really helps especially in advance of a tribunal hearing.

I've never had to prepare a Witness Statement or attend Tribunal. I feel that this training has helped to prepare me to an extent, as I now have an idea of what to expect.

HMRC needs to provide Bond Solon with more suited witness statement examples and up to date ones - for example a number of us on todays learning deal with COP8/9 civil cases and so most of the MTIC witness statement content (not necessarily the structure as that cuts across the board) was not relevant. It would be good to have examples where for example it was an income tax fraud(s) issue the decision maker was doing a witness statement on.

I found the course really interesting and very useful.

Well presented and delivered over the correct amount of time - the 2 full days was appropriate.
