I found the training very informative and relevant to my role. It provided a useful refresher on the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards while increasing my understanding of capacity assessments, best interests decision-making and human rights considerations. The case examples helped put the legislation into a practical context and, importantly, the training allowed time for discussion and reflection on specific aspects of the MCA and DoLS, which helped to clarify areas of practice and improve understanding. The learning will support me in applying the legislation more confidently in my day-to-day work and ensure that my practice remains person-centred, lawful and proportionate.
