Overall, I enjoyed the program, but I believe the CompTIA a+ portion could be improved significantly. The material felt rushed, making it difficult to full retain the concepts needed to be successful on the certification exam. I think the curriculum should be structured better on the learning platform and website. I should be organized in a way for students be able to access the study materials , objectives, labs that are required to receive vouchers, and practice resources without having to search for them. Additionally, Core 1 (1201) and Core 2 (1202) should be taught as separate sections since they are technically a two part exam. It should be dedicated instruction and assessments. Having a midterm and final exam for each core. This would allow students to build a stronger understanding of each domain before moving on. This approach would better prepare students for the certification exam and improve overall learning outcomes..
There's a great lack in hands on activities, a lot of the quizzes and questionnaires were very silly and redundant, most questions are to easy and others are simply broken and mark you wrong for the select answer, and some are worded incorrectly and don't provide a correct answer. The labs are atrocious and should be completely reworked or removed all together. I find much better resources for free online and from youtube that provide much better explanations, insights, questionnaires and reviews. Dave, our instructor, was fantastic and is the only thing making this course learnable and possible.
As a student here at ACI I feel like I have officially been set up for success and have been given all the proper tools to be successful in job searching and also getting my certifications... Love how much the instructors put their dedication and time into each and everyone. You don't see that often and it speaks highly of the school.
The course was very beginner friendly and showed how to prepare for the A+ exam.
Ms. Janine Wiggins' IT Career Prep (ACI) V3 course is a masterclass in professional rebranding. It bridges the critical gap between hard technical certifications (like the CompTIA A+) and employment. For professionals pivoting into the tech industry from non-traditional fields, this course provides an indispensable tactical toolkit. This course shifts a student’s mindset from an applicant seeking an entry-level chance to a highly capable, unshakeable IT Support Professional ready to manage chaotic technical environments from day one. It is a vital and transformative final milestone in the ACI Learning journey.
Overall, this course was a strong and valuable learning experience. It provided a clear structure, practical labs, and real-world troubleshooting scenarios that helped me build confidence in my IT support skills. The instructor explained complex topics in a way that was easy to follow, and the hands-on activities made the material feel relevant to actual help desk work. While some sections moved quickly—especially networking and security—the course still gave me a solid foundation and prepared me well for the CompTIA A+ certification and entry-level IT roles.
This second portion of the course was very helpful, although I feel that I am very weak in Networking, Ernest was very helpful. Also was very helping in AI usage, job search and resume bulidng
This information was easier to learn after going through all the other information we learned. Our teachers were very knowledgeable and helpful in explaining the ideas we were confused about.
course was cool, we got hotdogs on the 4th and pizza during orientation but didn't get pizza for graduation!??!!? that deserves 3 stars. no on a serious note Eric Tinn is the best teacher at ACI followed Gregory Benjamin every instructor needs to shadow Eric and Gregory to learn their polymorphic teaching style. They know how to change their teaching style for each student so they can understand.
