The course was worth attending

Dr. Murdock was excellent as was the program. The exceptions were: no feedback/responses from the participants, the slides had a lot of narrative and very little graphics. More examples would have been helpful.

I really enjoyed the instructor he was very knowledgeable and engaging. For me personally I felt the class was a little too introductory for me. I felt like a lot of the items were a little common sense and maybe did not need as much detail as we had. The venue was super nice and centrally located and I was able to take home a little bit of new knowledge to spread to my fellow coworkers back home.

Jason did a great job of considering the participants and their industries, and tailoring the training to our organizations and responsibilities.

More hands-on exercises around tools and technologies.

Ask about dietary restrictions during registration. It was new to me that lunch was included, but I don't remember seeing anywhere that I could specify my nut allergy. The first day the entree has nuts included. I wish we spent more time discussing common analytics and more complicated analytics that can help in my industry. Everything seemed generic and was not always convertible to insurance. I would have like more time using standard tools (excel or tableau) to learn how to manipulate and analyze data.

Kudos to the speaker and MISTI for helping to make sure everything went smoothly when Mark didn't make it past customs! The distance learning option worked OK the first day, and I know there was a lot of effort spent getting him there for the rest of the time. Venue was great! Food was good. Thanks for upgrading. Course was OK - Some materials weren't updated. The learning focused on the basics (prerequisites listed on MISTI's website didn't really apply). I was hoping to dive deeper into how to implement the framework (materials were a list of basic requirements that could have been pulled off of the NIST website). We finally started getting into the "meat" of it by the last day, but spent too much time on the basics and ran out of time. Instructor was great about promising to share templates/etc. with us, which will add value when received.

The instructor made the course more interesting and allowed class discussions and questions. It was almost perfect

The program was really helpful to highlight the most important risks and audit area to look for in the oil and gas industry. I thought it I’ll be a little more focus on technical and operational audits like actually auditing maintenance and plant efficiency but it had also topics like contractors and project management that highlights areas I was not aware of. So overall it met my objectives. One thing they should about changing is the length of the day. 8 hours which is 9 to 5 is too long and you are tired by the end of the day and can’t concentrate. The hours should be shorter.
