Very useful introduction to negotiation. Lots of frameworks and approaches I had not heard of before and threads to pull on to do more learning/reading and build on (Thomas-Kilmann, Patrick Forsyth, Tim Hindle, Cathy Birch). As well as taking a step back and making me think about the preparation and the approach I take to a negotiation.

The document provided with structure of report is invaluable

Trainer was engaging and clearly incredibly knowledgeable She engaged the room well (despite cold conditions!) Minimal materials, eg. handouts which would have been helpful, as there was a lot of information to retain Greater relevancy, eg. case studies/role play of how to challenge decision making would have been helpful

Interesting informative and well presented

Really good training! The barrister that led it was so knowledgeable, but also made the content digestible and easy to understand. She had clearly done a lot of work with social workers over her career, and it showed, because the content was perfectly tailored to the work we do. Really enjoyed it!

Enjoyed the relevant well structured material that applied to my work. There was lots of interactive conversations to learn from and share experiences. Connecting with peers which provided valuable perspectives. Francesca was very knowledgeable, inspirational and personable. Thank you.

Key areas that I found beneficial in my role as a Children with disabilities social worker were Mental Capacity Act a critical legal framework that a social worker must uphold to protect the rights and autonomy of individuals who lack capacity to make certain decisions. Along with court skills that help with preparation to give confident and clear testimony's in court including how to present evidence effectively under cross examination.
