The training was extremely useful and has helped reduce my anxiety about attending the Coroner’s Court. It reinforced the importance of having a thorough understanding of the case, being open and transparent, and being well prepared, including understanding the process of cross-examination. It would also be helpful if reading materials could be shared in advance of the training, and if the Teams link could be circulated earlier, as there was some need to chase this on the morning of the session.
Found this course very valuable and enjoyed the scenarios and the fact it made me think and assess how i do things.
Neil who took the session was wonderful. He took the course at a pace we had time to think, contribute and participate. He made the group feel comfortable to ask questions and be interactive. I feel my knowledge is greater following today and i am happy to recommend. the course would be 10/10 score if we had the materials in advance. That could have been a mis-communication between our learning hub and the training provider. It did not impact our session, but for future sessions should be noted.
I liked it and i find it really helpful. Moreover, with experience and connecting with toxicologists and expert witnesses I’ll be able to perform well in near future.

I felt that more time could have been spent on the role of the expert not just on report writing but I guess that is the focus of other training sessions. The trainer focused very much on workshops putting ourselves in the position of the legal team and how to make their lives easier. I would perhaps have liked a bit more on procedures, tips and tricks, how to present a lot of technical evidence effectively and how to stand your ground against the legal team when you do not agree with their position!
