I'm not a big fan of online training, however on this occasion Patrick definitely made this interesting, engaging and a lot of food for thought. It was very relevant and an comfortable platform to listen and speak out. I did feel that the small breakout groups lost a little momentum and possibly we need a little more guidance on the material we were using. The group had two different documents as reference. unless I missed an email with the attachment. However, we worked through it and Patrick did jump in to offer further wisdom.

I found the course very informative and I've got a better understanding of the process.

I thoroughly enjoyed the last of my 3 days. Patrick is so knowledgeable and relatable. Training via a digital platform for that length of time is difficult however Patrick kept everyone engaged and included moving at good pace. I have not marked Lorna as she was observing but throughout the sessions I have met her she is warm and approachable and will no doubt be a great asset to Bond Solon.

The course provided a clear and comprehensive insight into the structure and processes of both tribunal courts and legal courts, highlighting the practical differences between the two systems. The training effectively outlined the various roles within the courtroom, including the judge, panel members, legal representatives, clerks, and witnesses, and clarified how each contributes to the overall hearing process. This provided valuable context for understanding how evidence is presented and assessed. A particular strength of the course was its focus on courtroom language and terminology. The trainer explained the formal style of communication required, the importance of addressing the judge correctly at all times, and the expectations placed on witnesses when giving evidence. This helped reinforce the need for clarity, professionalism, and composure throughout proceedings. The session also explored personal experiences of cross‑examination, which added practical depth to the learning. These examples highlighted how essential it is for a witness statement to be detailed, accurate, and structured logically, as the strength of the written statement directly influences how effectively a witness can respond under questioning. The course offered useful strategies for managing counsel during cross‑examination, including remaining calm, listening carefully, and responding only to what is asked. Overall, the course significantly enhanced understanding of court expectations and improved confidence in navigating both tribunal and legal hearings. It reinforced the critical importance of strong, well‑evidenced statements and provided clear guidance on how to conduct oneself professionally when giving oral evidence
