Overall, the course was well-structured, informative, and a great stepping stone for anyone starting out in IT. It covered a wide range of topics at just the right depth, and the mix of theory and hands-on practice made it easy to stay engaged and actually retain the material.

An enormous thank you to Mr. Wentzel for taking arguably one of the most complicated and intimidating subjects for learning and transforming it into one of extreme fun and enjoyment. If you're on-the-fence about taking the Security+ course and Mr. Wentzel is the instructor, please dispose of your apprehension and take the plunge, you will not regret a moment spent learning from him!

overall the course and the instructors throw a lot at you but its also coming from individuals who've been in he IT field a lot longer than someone like myself. That being said i enjoyed the challenge and being able to set my mind to something and seeing the results of my learning from my understanding of the material and understanding my instructors.

I recently completed the CompTIA A+ 1101, and wanted to share some feedback regarding my experience. First and foremost, I want to highlight the exceptional quality of instruction provided by Patrick Allen. The instructor was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and consistently helpful throughout the course. Their ability to explain complex topics clearly and provide practical insights made the learning experience truly valuable. However, I did encounter several issues with the online platform that significantly impacted the overall usability of the course materials: Course Modules: Many modules were frequently broken or failed to load correctly. The recurring advice to "clear cache and cookies" was not effective, as the issues appeared to be server-side (as it only happens when multiple classes and users were trying to access the system). This caused considerable delays and frustration during the learning process for many in the class. Practice Exam Review Functionality: The platform does not allow users to review their answers alongside the correct ones after completing the practice exam, especially when answers are incorrect. This makes it difficult to identify knowledge gaps or understand mistakes. This is an essential part of the learning process, and effective exam preparation, particularly when a passing score is required to obtain the course voucher. Lab Exercises: The lab component, which launches virtual machines, was often unintuitive. Clearer guidance and more structured instructions would greatly enhance the usability and effectiveness of these exercises. eg. is the final state of the virtual machine considered your answer when you click next to confirm. does the machine need to be shut down to be considered a valid answer. If there is a conflict with the network that the machine was built on, and what the question is asking of you does this affect your answer. As stated above knowing why you got something like this wrong is a valuable part of the learning process that was not accomplished here. While the instructional content itself was excellent, these technical and design issues detracted from the overall experience. Instructor withstanding you can receive the same level of education online for free. I believe that with some improvements to the platform and user interface, this course could be significantly more effective for future learners.
