I found the course really helpful but need to reflect on how can apply to my area of work. Feel need to develop increased confidence in using these strategies in an outpatient setting.

Trainer was very enthusiastic and good. Would have been better if we could have been stood up more and moving around as it’s very hard to concentrate sat in a room all day. But the collaborative /interactive bits were good! Feel like I’ve learnt useful thingsResponse : Hi Alice. Thank you for your valuable feedback. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the course and the delivery by Ben. We hope that completing the course will further support you in your role. I appreciate your suggestion about incorporating more movement. It’s important that everyone stays engaged and comfortable throughout the day. If you would like to discuss this further, please feel free to email me at kirsty.briggs@sherwoodtraining.co.uk.

The course was very very informative. I loved the overview of Autism at the end, as well as the arousal model. Was really good breaking down each step of the model and using examples to better understand each stage, such as baseline being calm, normal, relaxed etc. and then examples of cues such as hitting, biting, pacing etc. These are real life examples that I see everyday in my unit, so it will be very helpful now knowing that I recognise them and put my theory into practice the best way I can. The booklet was extremely helpful.Response : Hello Diandra, thank you for your detailed feedback and it's great to see how you can then use this on your unit to assist your patients going forward and other staff.

It will be very good if we can learn how to defend ourselves towards aggressive patientsResponse : Hi Laurette, thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. You have completed day 1 of the training, which helps us understand why a person may have aggressive behaviours and how to manage these proactively rather than reactively. The next 2 levels of the course will look further into how to protect ourselves whilst keeping ourselves and the patient safe.
