Practical scenario work and repeated use of the ALGEE framework help attendees translate mental health first-aid principles into calm, supportive action. They value knowledgeable, empathetic trainers who create safe, inclusive discussions, maintain a clear pace and encourage learning from peers. The blended modules, videos, handbook and breakout exercises build understanding and confidence that transfers to work and personal situations, although some find the online manual awkward to navigate.

I love the fact that I learn more about mental well-being and it’s good to seek help whenever needed. Mental illness doesn’t discriminate anyone but it can handle hence open up.

Excellent and informative. Prior to the course I thought I was knowledgeable on the topic of mental health but this course has challenged my perceptions and left me much more aware of what MH means and how to act, particularly in situations of crisis.

I found the course to be very informative, thought provoking and very well executed by the tutors. I feel confident in areas I would not have considered before the course and able to understand the importance of directness which can be a clouded area in today's society.

Very well put together with clear topics and facts. Both Instructors worked very well together, presented well and engaged with us on all levels. Interesting discussions and relevant to the course. Overall a good and engaging experience.

Break out rooms were great - lots of discussions around the topic. Trainer was knowledgeable and approachable - he also gave good examples of how to apply this course to real life situations that we may face. Modules - I experienced some difficulty with the imputing of my answers - occasionally it moved onto the next question without me finishing my answer. Manual - I struggle with reading resources online so was a bit disappointed that I could not print out the materials needed. I will def be asking my line manager to put a request to order the manual :-) Many thanks for the training.

Didn't know what to expect on the course but I found it to be very insightful and useful. I joined the course for both professional and personal reasons. It felt like a safe space that some of us, including me, could talk about our own experiences of mental health without feeling judged. I was also grateful to receive the handbook which is great to have to hand and look back on should I need to. I have recommended this course to my colleagues who I believe will be joining up in November. Thank you to Patrick and Rachel for their time and for being so accommodating.
