Practical scenario work and repeated use of the ALGEE framework help attendees translate mental health first-aid principles into calm, supportive action. They value knowledgeable, empathetic trainers who create safe, inclusive discussions, maintain a clear pace and encourage learning from peers. The blended modules, videos, handbook and breakout exercises build understanding and confidence that transfers to work and personal situations, although some find the online manual awkward to navigate.

I now see MHFA as I do general first aid and there is a need for it so I appreciate having the opportunity to do this course. I found the videos and the real-life scenarios and discussions useful. The online module content is good and the live sessions really help to consolidate.

I thought the course was excellent. Very informative and well executed. My only feedback would be to maybe do the e-learning after the course as I feel that this would flow better. The breakout room discussions were too long. I think 10mins per discussion would be more than enough. Overall, an excellent training event provided by Stephen and Mark. Thanks both. Diolch / Thanks, Hannah

I found it helpful to work through the ALGEE model on a variety of situations/issues and it seems robust and accessible. The content was delivered sensitively and clearly, at a digestible pace. I think this is valuable content that everybody should work through, so that they can help those who are in need.

It was illuminating, both for broadening my understanding of the disorders discussed as well as equipping us with tools for approaching people who are experiencing these disorders. Overall I have learnt a lot and feel as though I have a better understanding of how to approach those in crisis.

I feel my time and energy have been well spent. I learned, I considered, I consolidated and now feel more capable using ALGEE as a MHFA. Thank you.
