Practical scenario work and repeated use of the ALGEE framework help attendees translate mental health first-aid principles into calm, supportive action. They value knowledgeable, empathetic trainers who create safe, inclusive discussions, maintain a clear pace and encourage learning from peers. The blended modules, videos, handbook and breakout exercises build understanding and confidence that transfers to work and personal situations, although some find the online manual awkward to navigate.

The course was very informative, and I feel more confident now about talking to people in distress. Patrick was a very good tutor, he taught us in a very professional but friendly manner, he was patient and knowledgeable, always gave us time to ask questions and he would happily address any queries from us. Overall, I would like the course to be even longer and more in-depth, covering more topics around the mental health. I am very happy I did this course though, and I will recommend it to my friends.

Bobbie handled the delivery of this course in a very supportive and encouraging way. There is a lot about the course that can challenging above and beyond the usual concerns around speaking in public. I always felt she was on my side rather than simply assessing my progress. It both interesting and engaging and I am sure that I will be able to use this information to help people.

Overall a very good course. Well presented with good discussions. Course material and e-learning modules all really useful and eye-opening to someone who has not undertaken such a course before. Having found myself in situations in the past talking with friends who are suicidal and struggling with substance misuse it has been greatly beneficial and something I wish we would have been taught earlier. It is something in my mind that should be taught to a greater extent in schools so that people are more open to talking about matters that we covered in the sessions. Thank you Bobbie.

Absolutely enjoyed learning MHFA from Patrick. He made sure everyone was participating in a case based scenarios. Based on active interaction, it felt like it was face-to-face training. Thank you. Dev

i struggled somewhat with the course material particularly relating it to the manual. My copy of the manual arrived after the course finished!! I therefore felt under prepared for the webinars and reticent, and that my knowledge was on the low end. However the break out rooms did give me confidence that i did both actually knew more than i thought and my experiences were valid
