Practical scenario work and repeated use of the ALGEE framework help attendees translate mental health first-aid principles into calm, supportive action. They value knowledgeable, empathetic trainers who create safe, inclusive discussions, maintain a clear pace and encourage learning from peers. The blended modules, videos, handbook and breakout exercises build understanding and confidence that transfers to work and personal situations, although some find the online manual awkward to navigate.

I really enjoyed this course. Before I wouldn't have had the confidence to approach someone to ask if they needed help but I definitely feel better prepared for that now. I think everyone should have the training as it brings so much into perspective

Interesting, informative and well conducted! Being such a broad topic keeping the course relevant and ensuring attendees come away equipped with the tools to begin their MHFA journey could be challenging however Rachael and Ellender did an amazing job. I came away with a much deeper understanding of mental health issues, how to recognise the signs in others, and how to respond effectively and with compassion. Rachael and Ellender created a safe space to discuss these sensitive topics while always ensuring we recognised our own needs while working through content. The group discussions were useful and allowed us to use the tools discussed in theoretical scenarios. I feel a sense of confidence in being able to apply my learning to colleagues and others. Thank you both!

Used what I learned to encourage a friend who was struggling at work to speak to their employer. After they had spoke to them they felt alot better

Much preferred the in class to the online learning as took a lot more in. Very good and open discussions. Will help take along skills learnt in my role as a advocate for mental health.

Great course, the workshops were very good and better than it being web based.

It was good to meet people of different backgrounds and experiences and share thoughts around mental health first aid. It is also helpful to have my skills honed to First Aid rather than just my counselling skills.

I really enjoyed the Course and meeting different colleagues. I have never done this Course on line before as my previous MHFA training has always been in person so I was open to what to expect. I have put 'strongly agree' to most answers above due to the nature of my job which is a Counsellor, so I ask these questions within that. I thought Andrew was very personable and I liked listening to his own lived experience, as well as other colleagues on the Course who shared. I have rated the Course 4 stars as it was well run and was very convenient to do on line, but on reflection it would have been useful to roll it out over 4 webinars / sessions as it is, of course, a huge topic to cover.

I really enjoyed this course and strongly recommend others doing it, it opened my eyes to phycosis and helped me understand them as human beings much much better now, I'd stay calm and know how to talk to someone with phycosis when they're having an episode. Patrick is lovely, hes welcoming funny and calm.
