Practical scenario work and repeated use of the ALGEE framework help attendees translate mental health first-aid principles into calm, supportive action. They value knowledgeable, empathetic trainers who create safe, inclusive discussions, maintain a clear pace and encourage learning from peers. The blended modules, videos, handbook and breakout exercises build understanding and confidence that transfers to work and personal situations, although some find the online manual awkward to navigate.

I feel so much more confident after going on this course. They should make a shortened version of this and make it mandatory for all staff. There was a lot of things i did not know and just assumed so was great in providing clarity. Course instructors were knowledgable and considerate of others.

I found the course to be extremely informative and dispelled the myths that so often surround mental illness. The course manual is an excellent resource and a 'go to' if at any time I find myself uncertain of how to respond to someone in mental distress. The course trainers were all approachable and presented the material covered very well...thank you!

Steve was brilliant at delivering the course and ensured everyone was engaged throughout. Scenario based session was a good way to test knowledge and develop the thinking skills required when dealing with patients (persons), by looking outside the box sometimes and providing holistic measures to assess. Description of the ALGEE and continuum will prove vital in assisting a structured approach. Would recommend doing this, as it builds courage and skill sets - you never know when you might need them! Loved ones, friends, neighbours as well as patients, clients etc. Thank you for an insightful look into mental health.

This an excellent course. It has built my confidence in supporting someone in distress. Just knowing how to go about supporting someone using ALGEE, is hugely benefical. All the content has been useful. Steve was interesting and engaging. He explained everything well and encouraged questions.

The course was very informative, and I feel more confident now about talking to people in distress. Patrick was a very good tutor, he taught us in a very professional but friendly manner, he was patient and knowledgeable, always gave us time to ask questions and he would happily address any queries from us. Overall, I would like the course to be even longer and more in-depth, covering more topics around the mental health. I am very happy I did this course though, and I will recommend it to my friends.
