Practical scenario work and repeated use of the ALGEE framework help attendees translate mental health first-aid principles into calm, supportive action. They value knowledgeable, empathetic trainers who create safe, inclusive discussions, maintain a clear pace and encourage learning from peers. The blended modules, videos, handbook and breakout exercises build understanding and confidence that transfers to work and personal situations, although some find the online manual awkward to navigate.

I have really enjoyed this course. It has encouraged me to be more confident in my approaches with talking to people. where there were niggaly doubts of would I say/do that, they have been thoroughly answered within this course. Patrick made the course a pleasure to be in and encouraged us to think for ourselves before clarifying our answers. It has made things stick with me easier. would highly recommend this to others. Thankyou for allowing me to take part and share my experiences.

The online module / courses I found to be slightly awkward to navigate there was a lot of back and two. However, the course tutor and content were excellent and very informative.

I really enjoyed the course. It made me reflect how I have approached the question of suicidal thoughts, but also risk to myself in the past. The presentation by Michelle was excellent, thank you.

Really enjoyed the course. Learned so much more about mental health issues. Paul and Ellender were amazing, not only in funning the course but with helping with my own mental health throughout. The whole group were fantastic and very supportive.

An excellent course to take whether you are interested in your own mental health or assisting others with theirs. The study from home modules were a great way to learn at my own pace & to have time to process the information while the webinars were perfect for sharing thoughts with others & gaining some well presented extra perspectives. I feel I have learned valuable insight into the topics which we have covered & have an excellent foundation for further education moving forward.

Patrick was a really good instructor. He never pressured anyone to talk and the chat facility was always available. Also he was mindful of checking people were feeling okay due to the content of some of the topics. I would highly recommend the course. Very interesting and lots of information.
