Practical scenario work and repeated use of the ALGEE framework help attendees translate mental health first-aid principles into calm, supportive action. They value knowledgeable, empathetic trainers who create safe, inclusive discussions, maintain a clear pace and encourage learning from peers. The blended modules, videos, handbook and breakout exercises build understanding and confidence that transfers to work and personal situations, although some find the online manual awkward to navigate.

I found the course to be extremely informative. Carol is a breath of fresh air and I would have no hesitance in contacting her for advice or reassurance in the future. Thank you Carol!

Response: Thank you so much Sheri both for your lovely words and for taking the time to review the course. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. Big smile, Carol

I thoroughly enjoyed this course. Bobbie was fantastic, very engaging and knowledgeable. I appreciated the regular time and space we had to ask questions and also discuss topics in more detail in break out groups. Thank you :)

My answers were based on previous training and qualifications. This course was a MHFA refresher. Andrew is an excellent trainer with a great calmness, creating a relaxed and safe space for people to open up and and be comfortable discussing their own experiences. Due to this the group discussions were very rich, perfect to be able to apply theory to real life situations, creating a deeper understanding of various mental health conditions and their impact to the individual and those around them. I was very impressed with the course materials too. Thanks as always to Andrew :)

I am very grateful to have been offered this course. As a practitiomer for people with mental health issues I feel more confident to be able to handle a situation which might happen in one of my classes. The course was well presented with patience and understanding and it was good to hear from the other participants. There is a very long way to go in our understanding of mental health illnesses and their complexities and it is a good thing that more people are trained in the fundamental ways we can all be more aware and therefore more helpful.
