Length of the course is about right as trying to cram all the topics in as well as a test in 3 days would be quite tight. It was also a good mixture of theory and practical exercises.

I thought this was supposed to be Rack maintenance nit 18th edition qualified engineers the exam was ridiculous to the pre existing course considered that we are only cat1 engineers.
Response : Dear Stirling, Thank you for your comments. In response to your point about the 18th Edition. The wiring regulations are fundamental to any fixed wiring installation including DC telecoms systems. I appreciate that Racks are not considered part of the fixed installation but there are many similarities in the requirements in terms of methods of protection, equipment selection, inspection and testing. It is also important to understand the interfaces between the installation and the rack supplies, i.e. earthing and bonding etc. We also have trainees that attend these courses that work on the fixed wire DC installations. The content is primarily to ensure that Cat 1 engineers have an appreciation of the installations to the Racks as well as an appreciation of the internals to the rack equipment so that you are able to 'carry out prescribed electrical activities on ELV DC and LV AC systems'. I hope that helps clarify the content and objectives of this course for you.
