I was engaged due to the instructor only the rest of the course was crap.

Provided you have a good instructor, the course is a good introduction to IT. While the videos and supplemental material is helpful, you will have to invest in text books since the course does not provide a text book.

Again find middle ground. Information provided leads some students down a completely different path. Understand you will get all different levels of students in these classes, build for that. Also again I understand the success portion of passing the class for ACI, but passing this class does nothing for us later in our career. Companies are seeking the certification portion, not if we could pass ACI.

I thought this course would provide me with a much better understanding of how to troubleshoot and use PC's, but I don't feel confident in my abilities since so much of the course content was wrong. The corresponding TestOut labs were mismarked and made doing the correct homework a tiresome process. I don't want it to reflect negatively on the instructor, because he did the best he could with what he had, but the admins at ACI set everyone up for failure.

I believe a revamp of this would be great. Revamp to a guidance similar to what is being asked via objectives. One example, printers, discussed thoroughly but absolutely no documentation of it in course materials. Also curious as to why we do not get the option of actual books? I understand the condensing with notes, but to continue and grow I believe hard copies of material would be beneficial also.

Mr. Tinn is exceptional and very patient, his goal is to make sure we all succeed.

Instructor = A Materials = C Venue = makes no difference as long as content is helpful. Overall, the instructor is once again the saving grace because without him its self study, and if that were the case why would I need to attend when I can and have had to buy books for each cert so that I can ensure passing on relevant material.

Provided a good instructor, this course is challenging but provides important foundation knowledge for IT.

This should be a course that you choose to take if this is direction you want to go. Do not feel that it is absolutely necessary even if being brand new to IT. If you had project management aspirations then I think its a great course to take along with other ITIL courses related to this,

To my understanding there used to be access to more CompTIA materials directly and those should be placed back into the curriculum
