Attendees particularly value the trainers’ ability to make complex legislation, case law and legal terminology clear, precise and practical. They describe Sue, Steve and Max as knowledgeable, patient, approachable and engaging, using real-world examples, case studies, discussion and group work to connect theory with BIA practice. The course is well structured, with useful materials and a supportive pace that builds confidence in applying the Mental Capacity Act, DoLS and best-interests principles at work, although the content feels intensive for some.

The course was engaging, well‑structured, and provided a strong blend of theory and practical application. Each session built on the previous one, creating a clear and progressive learning experience for me.

Sue was fantastic, she made it knowledgeable, accessible and interesting and it really helped me understand it clearly. I did not enjoy day three with the social worker as I felt this was more rambly and in some ways contradicted the information from the previous two days. this day would benefit from being simplified in terms of the process and how to carry it out practically, rather than becoming too anecdotal and going back and forth.

Really good course. Very engaging and a lot of material was covered in a short space of time. I enjoyed how practical a lot of it was, so I could immediately see how the theory would apply in practice. Very relevant to the role it provides the qualification for. And the course materials are excellent - the best I've had from a qualification course and am sure to continue to use and refer back to.

If there is anything I would comment on, it is the Breaks. They are too short for such a heavy course. They need to be increased. It's helpful to take a break every hour after a session.
