Practical scenario work and repeated use of the ALGEE framework help attendees translate mental health first-aid principles into calm, supportive action. They value knowledgeable, empathetic trainers who create safe, inclusive discussions, maintain a clear pace and encourage learning from peers. The blended modules, videos, handbook and breakout exercises build understanding and confidence that transfers to work and personal situations, although some find the online manual awkward to navigate.

Overall it was an enjoyable course and I did learn a lot. The trainer was knowledgeable. The online version of the manual is too small to read, I assume this is so we will buy one. It would be better in the in person course if people were asked to use the hands up icon to answer any questions as people end up talking over each other. I couple of times I went to answer and people were already talking. Using this icon means people will be answered in order. Found it a little repetitive at times. I would however still recommend the training.

The course was extremely informative and well-structured, providing practical tools for recognizing and addressing mental health challenges. I feel more confident in my ability to support someone experiencing a mental health crisis. Paul and Debbie were knowledgeable, approachable and created a safe space for learning about these sensitive topics.

The initial getting onto the online pre-work was a bit confusing (the steps to get into each module just didn't seem logical at first) but once in and I knew what to do, it all wen't smoothly. The facilitated course by Paul & Deb we're great. Both brought their own personalities to the room and this made it feel authentic. Both made it clear that we come first and to stop at any time if we needed to. Really good discussions by all on my course and really helped to cement the thinking and I was able to take away tips and things to think about. I would never wish poor mental health on anyone, and I am glad that I am now in a better position to help in that initial first aid to anyone who needs it. Cheers! Ryan Morgan
