Practical scenario work and repeated use of the ALGEE framework help attendees translate mental health first-aid principles into calm, supportive action. They value knowledgeable, empathetic trainers who create safe, inclusive discussions, maintain a clear pace and encourage learning from peers. The blended modules, videos, handbook and breakout exercises build understanding and confidence that transfers to work and personal situations, although some find the online manual awkward to navigate.

I have learnt so much about lots of different mental heath conditions and the factors that can bring them on. Also about the consequences of leaving problems untreated. It was a real eye opener and I will never take mental health for granted again. I hope to be able to help anyone i now see who may have developing problems. A great course.

I thought the course was well laid out, thorough and covered a wide range of topics. The shared knowledge and experience of our instructor was really useful. The module handout was great and accompanied the e-learning very well. The videos of people who had suffered from real mental illness were very good at portraying their experiences.

The course has really helped in knowing what to say and what not to say. the instructor was great and very experienced and knowledgeable. I would have preferred a physical manual to read as the online manual was hard to adjust the pages online. A physical print out might be easier to find and read to just swat up on what to do. I will remember ALGEE and work from that though.

best CPD I've done at this place. The MHFA materials, website and resources (manual; videos) were fantastic. Great user interface, even for technophobes like me. The literature was intelligently written and not condescending. The tutors were fun and compassionate and bright. I really enjoyed it and learnt a lot.

Really interesting and helpful course. Relevant content and a good mix of learning materials - videos, reading, interactive activities, group work etc I really enjoyed the course and feel that I have learned a lot. I liked the way we has independent study to do beforehand and the sessions were only 2 hours or so making it easy to stay engaged and focused. Layla was really knowledgeable and had a fantastic approach to the course.
