Amazing training very informative and sensitive in delivery.
I learnt a lot , this was very informative & made me recognise that I need to ask the question to a friend, and will know go back to asking the question in all supervisons I complete which I use to do before, but stopped
I found the training very knowledgeable, Having dealt with suicide close to home i feel this area is not discussed enough on a day to day platform "That it is is ok to talk". Being taught today on how to recognise signs and how to deal with the situation we may be faced with by learning tools on how to address myself and support an individual in need "Seek first to understand, then to be understood" I feel is paramount. The course made me feel more confident going forward in future. This course should also be mandatory within healthcare...
The course also highlighted the importance of listening without judgement, communicating calmly and sensitively, and taking concerns seriously.
I thought the training was excellent, delivered with compassion and respect for the very sensitive subject. The training gave space for participants to experience the associated emotions that come along with such confronting subject matter in a way that I think added a huge amount of value to the course itself. The information provided was clear, factual and precise about the subject matter without feeling clinical or overloaded with facts and figures which I think was helpful in absorbing the information. The practical advice on how to approach conversations is incredibly helpful. I gave a score of 3 for my level of confidence to speak with someone who might be experiencing thoughts about suicide which may not seem like a high score but I think with honest reflection I feel vastly more confident now than before completing the training, but realistically this is a level of confidence I will still need to build upon with time and experience in navigating these difficult conversations. The training has provided the foundation and the tools with which to build up that confidence myself with further reflection, time and experience.
Susie was great and relatable espically for the community and space they where teaching
Michelle Moody was very good at explaining suicide intervention today. Looking forward to completing more courses with Michelle in the future.
Interesting course, helped me in terms of how to put a support plan in place
