Very informative and well presented

Course could have contained some stuff about communication and processing time with regards to PBS as I feel like that is overlooked but otherwise really informative and have enjoyed Sherwood courses in the past

Could do with a trigger warning as I found elements very challenging and increased my own anxiety. Trainer was very informative and helpful and his personal insights and analogies

The course was very informative and I found it very engaging and hands on. The slight downside was not being able to execute more accurate life scenarios (because of our environment) Overall great course with determined trainers.

I thought the course was excellent overall - content, resources, trainer/delivery, relevance, usefulness - all excellent. So much simpler and easier to learn than the likes of TEAM TEACH and the balance of theory and practical really supported the ethos of minimising restrictive practice. Hannah’s delivery is superb, a great balance of lightness and seriousness, which I feel allowed her to engage attendees that were anxious and previously hesitant. In terms of what can be improved, the presentation is a bit sterile/flat with a heavy emphasis on text. Many people in this industry are visual learners and the abundance of text, along with graphics that are very similar throughout makes it difficult to distinguish one slide from another and retain/recall that info. Varying that and introducing more graphics would really help (I think). Whilst I feel the model is so much more usable and applicable that TEAM TEACH, the flip side of being simpler (and less comprehensive) is that I’m left wondering if it covers all bases. I’m hopeful that’s because it’s the first time I’ve done it though and I just need to let it bed in.

The trainer is superb . I have learnt that as carer, arousal model should be use in any situation and making restricts the last resort

The training over all was very helpful and I feel more confident going into my role. Chantelle the trainer was super amazing with the way she delivered things and I would rate her more than 5 if I could

More could have been given to clinical holds and the settings. As well as feeling limited with what was learned on the chairs.

The lower score for the content and materials was really based around the clinical holds. Completing holds on 2 slippy sheets is not something that will happen in practice. There needed to be more specific holds for clinical interventions so everyone has the same approach. NGT can be particularly difficult if there is not some standard set in training. Moving forward a focus on clinical would be beneficial for the general paediatric setting. Some of the slides and references where out of date. I enjoyed the PBS focused aspect of the training. I can see it matching well with other initiatives at RMCH. The trainer was knowledgeable and approachable throughout, good job.Response : Hi Andrew. Thank you for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback. You will be pleased to know that the trainer has raised the issue of the matts and clinical holds. I will be sure to raise this as part of the review of the initial training to ensure continued improvement. Thanks again. Rachael, Head of Operations, Sherwood Training
