Good session but a bit longer than I feel was needed
I have given this training 3 stars. The trainer was clearly very knowledgeable and experienced, and I appreciated the effort made to involve participants through questions during the session. However, I felt the training was quite information-heavy and largely lecture-based, which made it difficult to maintain engagement throughout. I feel the session would have been more effective with a greater balance between theory and practical application. One possible improvement could be to provide some of the theoretical content in advance as pre-course reading or e-learning. This would allow more classroom time to be dedicated to practical exercises, discussion, scenario-based learning, and skill development. In particular, for skills such as CPR, I believe it would be beneficial for the trainer to observe each participant demonstrating competence and formally sign them off. This would help ensure learning is embedded and provide greater confidence that staff can apply the skills correctly in a real-life emergency. During the practical CPR session, I found myself encouraging and supporting a younger carer who had become disengaged, wanted to leave, and did not appear to fully appreciate the importance of practising these potentially life-saving skills. This reinforced for me the value of having more hands-on practice and individual observation, as practical engagement can help learners better understand the relevance and importance of the training. Overall, I valued the trainer's expertise and the information provided. I believe that increasing the practical element of the course would make the training more engaging, memorable, and effective for participants.
Course has way too many people and there was not enough time to run through BLS appropriately
Stewart was really good and explanations and giving examples and making sure everyone understold
I couldn’t see the writing on the board as there was red writing on a white background and black writing on a white background , as I’m someone with dyslexia this was very hard
Didn't go into enough depth but really good to have people with real life experiences heavily involved in the presentation
The information are presented really well but the quiz were very well written.
