Some aspects of the training not relevant for my job ie. Moving and handling
The training was well organised, informative, and engaging. The trainer explained everything clearly and encouraged participation. I gained valuable knowledge and practical skills that I can apply confidently in my role. Thank you for an excellent training session
Overall, I recognise the importance of this topic and the value of ensuring staff receive consistent training. However, as I already have a strong level of knowledge in this area, I did not gain any new learning or insights from the session. I felt that a significant amount of the content, particularly the videos, would have been better incorporated into the e-learning. The videos accounted for over an hour of the face-to-face session, and the first 20-minute video featuring Paula had already been included in the e-learning, making it repetitive. For me, the greatest value of face-to-face training is the opportunity to hear lived experiences, engage in discussion, and explore real-world application. Much of the session involved working through slides and watching videos, which could have been completed independently beforehand. While I appreciate the importance of including people with lived experience in the delivery of this training, I felt this aspect could have been used more effectively. A face-to-face session provides an excellent opportunity to expand beyond the slides, encourage meaningful discussion, and share personal insights that add depth and context to the learning experience.
I think the course is misleading for hca/agency staff as they may not be able to access consistent supervised practice. Alot of people where doing it for career progression, but due to the nature of there emoyment (care homes) they will not get to practice or use the skills. They have all self funded too.
Very well presented and learnt alot.
