A very interesting day, I really enjoyed it and was certainly a stretch. The course flowed very nicely in terms of structure and then the practical exercises. The fact that you could familiarise yourself with a radio station and a TV studio was hugely beneficial. The course tutor Victoria was very patient and supportive and brought real world examples to give context.

We looked into presenting in an appealing and catchy way, to focus our discourse and make sure the key message gets delivered. We also had a look at ways to deal with difficult situations with Q&As, although I was a bit more ambivalent about this part as it at times felt too much like we were learning to avoid questions rather than simply dealing with hecklers. They did put emphasis on being honest about not knowing the answer, or deferring to the relevant person, which I think is healthy.

The training is about understanding how to communicate and get your point across effectively without feeling pressured.

A really important opportunity to understand how to respond in a crisis. It was really useful being able to step into the role of spokesperson.
