Completing my Level 3 qualification has been a rewarding and valuable experience that has significantly enhanced my knowledge, skills and confidence as a Senior Support Worker supporting tenants with mental health challenges. Throughout the course, I have gained a deeper understanding of person-centred care, leadership, safeguarding, communication, promoting independence, mental health, equality and diversity, and the legislation that underpins safe and effective practice. The course has enabled me to reflect on my own practice and identify areas where I have developed professionally. I now feel more confident in leading my team, supporting colleagues, managing challenging situations and ensuring that tenants receive high-quality, compassionate and person-centred care. I have also strengthened my understanding of key legislation, including the Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007), Mental Capacity Act 2005, Equality Act 2010, and the importance of working within professional boundaries and organisational policies. I found the assignments both challenging and rewarding, as they encouraged me to think critically about my role and apply my learning to real-life situations within supported living. The knowledge I have gained will continue to benefit both my professional practice and the tenants I support. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to my assessor, Grant, for his patience, guidance and encouragement throughout the course. His constructive feedback, professionalism and willingness to provide support whenever needed made the learning process much more manageable and enjoyable. Grant consistently challenged me to reflect on my practice and helped me build confidence in completing each unit to the required standard. Overall, I am proud to have completed this qualification. It has motivated me to continue my professional development and strive for excellence in my role. I look forward to applying everything I have learned to improve outcomes for the tenants I support and to continue developing as an effective leader within the health and social care sector.
