This course was clear, concise, welcoming and very informative. The trainers, were knowledgeable, pleasant and friendly and it felt as if you could talk to them if it was required. All round a good experience

Taking the time out of my working week to totally focus on the course was valuable. The mental Heath Continuum was a useful diagram to highlight that we all could experience poor mental health during our lives. Training have given me the confidence to address any concerns I may have directly but with sensitivity. The trainer was very knowledgeable and willing to share his experiences when appropriate. The films were very good. I have already recommended this course to someone.

I was very sceptical of the benefits of this course and went along as requested but after the first day I found it extremely interesting and very beneficial. As the old saying goes, 'you cant judge a book by its cover' and that certainly was the case with this course.

I'm sure there is a lot of research around course contents, but there was a lot of focus on psychotics when it's only 0.7% of population, I would have thought a section on general conversation would be better. Apart from that Andrew was really good, I trusted him from the start and valued his real world experience, it felt like he lived a lot of the course, not just reading from a handbook.

Very generic, I was shocked that drink and drug abuse wasn’t higher up in importance bearing in mind we are a very working class male dominated steel works. To touch on this for only the last 20 minutes on the second day, I thought was shocking. Not much thinking outside of the box from the instructor, two days of just reading from the book. If you had a difference of opinion on how to deal with mental health issues they weren’t took into consideration, this was obvious on my course withing the first few minutes when someone gave a personal story that they had to deal with and because it wasn’t the way the course said it should, the lady was talked down to in my personal opinion. The course for me came across as very my way or the highway.

The course was very informative and I liked that we could interact with Louise who made learning about MHFA interesting. I liked that we were able to discuss our own experiences and talk about hard topics in an engaging and open way.

This course was a good pace. Louise presented it in easy chunks to manage and digest. Role play only involved one team whereas I believe everyone should have undertaken it. I dislike role play massively but would have accepted exercise more if everyone had undertaken role play. Either that remove role play exercise as majority of staff generally prefer not to do role play Louise is knowledgeable and has a lovely approach.
