I feel I have a better understanding, of what people can go through when they are at a point when they see no way out, I feel that having good listening skills helps people who are at the end of their tether , with no judgmental opinions. showing kindness and empathy, and sign posting where they can get the professional help they need, if they want it. Being carful not to pressure anyone.
Great course really enjoyed, contact was fantastic.
Response: Many thanks Oliver, I'm pleased that you enjoyed the training. Thank you for your involvement.
Brilliant course that has really helped me respond better to mental health emergencies. Both tutors were great listeners and kind, and I feel everyone should do this course, for its insight in helping recovery.
Informal course, very interactive and supportive
Lisa and Rebecca were great hosts and very down to earth. They made everyone comfortable and not intimidatingThank you bothy
Great mix of openness and reality from Steve. Each session was a good mix of information and engagement. Thank you.
This was my second refresher of the MHFA course so I have been familiar with the content for a number of years. Having been able to put into practice several aspects covered on the course I can completely advocate for the approach and topics covered over the two days. Steve is an excellent trainer, sharing insight from his own experiences and encouraging others, if comfortable to share too. The content is sensitive and so the constant reminder in all scenarios to remain non-judgmental was well placed to ensure we provide the right support to someone in need of MHFA.
Response: Many thanks Katherine -really enjoyed your company and appreciated your insights.
The scenario's could be improved as don't really match with what we deal with on a daily.
