Compassionate, knowledgeable trainers make challenging mental-health topics feel safe, accessible and engaging, according to attendees. They value the balance of clear explanation, real-life examples, videos, workbooks, scenarios and group discussion, with inclusive facilitation, regular check-ins and a comfortable pace. My answers were based on previous training and qualifications. This course was a MHFA refresher. Andrew is an excellent trainer with a great calmness, creating a relaxed and safe space for people to open up and and be comfortable discussing their own experiences. Due to this the group discussions were very rich, perfect to be able to apply theory to real life situations, creating a deeper understanding of various mental health conditions and their impact to the individual and those around them. I was very impressed with the course materials too. Thanks as always to Andrew :)

I am very grateful to have been offered this course. As a practitiomer for people with mental health issues I feel more confident to be able to handle a situation which might happen in one of my classes. The course was well presented with patience and understanding and it was good to hear from the other participants. There is a very long way to go in our understanding of mental health illnesses and their complexities and it is a good thing that more people are trained in the fundamental ways we can all be more aware and therefore more helpful.
