Great trainer (Liam), very knowledgeable and well delivered. Day 2 much more relevant for staff working in the community, particularly around the breakaway techniques. All staff should get this training!
Response: Hi Matt, thank you for recommending the training to everyone as it is relevant for everyone in the hospital setting as well as the community. I used a lot of the primary and secondary strategies myself whilst working both in hospital and in the community to really good effect.
Trainer gave too many anecdotes, always ended up delayed. Learnt new skills, physically. Some of the material was irrelevant to my work area, or was things I already knew.
Not applicable to my particular service user,
Response: Hi Marianne, Our courses explores the understanding of behaviours of concern and supports to identify why these might be happening, following on from this the service can develop positive strategies and ways we can support the person which is tailored for each person.
Found content ok, I didn’t feel instructions were clear and some elements were confusing.
Managed to pass the course with 100% due to the level of the knowledge provided by the trainer, she delivered it well and made it more easier to understand and more interesting.
Much better than previous versions which had far too much emphasis on restraint. A shame that it's still included and the trainer mentioned that you're still teaching Maslow's hierarchy. Really guys?? Still, Kirstie's a fine trainer with a humane approach.
