Prefers in real life labs to get use to so many different tools and components.
The instructor was put in a situation where he was behind from the beginning. I think the sheer volume of powerpoint slides made it impossible for him to catch up to the course. I benefitted most from the homework material. I especially found the TestOut LabSim exercises to be helpful. I wish we had the opportunity to cover them in class as stated in the syllabus.
Too little time to go over too much material. Extend the courses and actually cover the topics. I know this isn't the instructors fault it is the schools.
The Network + course is fast paced. The learning materials are great. However, there needs to be more explanation for the content. There is a lot of content that I personally felt overwhelmed and could not "put the pieces together", as a new user trying t get the certification. This is not a reflection of my instructor Mr. Bennett as he is great! The course learning plan needs to be revisited by the course designer. For example there were three chapters that were assigned for the students to complete without the instructor presenting the materials in this course. Mr. Bennett caught this and went over these chapters. Great Job to Mr. Bennett!! He is an instructor that really seems to care.
Sean Callinan is a performance-centric instructor. He provides many opportunities for review and refinement as well as made complicated subjects digestible. The provided slides and notes did little in the way of understanding the material in self-study without having an instructor/mentor like Sean expand upon them.
the test had questions that I didn't study for and wording was difficult
The class was way to short for the amount of material needed to be cover - way to rushed and not enough actual learning.
I have mixed feelings about this course. The power points are laid out to cover everything we need to know for the test. I just feel that you are setting your instructors up for failure. When there is single word bullet point on the slide you NEED to put a simple definition with the word (on the instructor side) so when the instructor reads that word off we get some sort of idea when we see that word on the test. If I wasn't following along in my book to the slide I never would of thought anything of it. I understand we only have so much time in one day to cover all of the material but when we finish over one hour before the end of class I feel as I am being Robbed of my hard earned benefits from War to take this class. Yall need to do better as to help us learn not just throw piles of info at us with no understanding of that info. -Be excellent to each other!
