Just hard to remember that the course is aimed at individuals not used to working with the subject matter

A short session that creates an awareness of suicide. I do think to cover such a wide topic in a short space of time is difficult so a great taster session.

appropriate size number of attendees. trainer was very warm and genuine and totally encouraging. some of the group activities rushed. i have 2 part time jobs. in my other job, they declined to send me on this course an asked me to do a 20 minute on line module which i declined as i do better in a classroom setting with interaction where i can learn from others. that's why i would have liked longer for the sessions where we could practice and learn from others

The presenter was very knowledgeable and efficient at delivering the training but I found the webex training tool not very user friendly

Perhaps I am too close to suicide, having a close family member die in this way. The whole experience was and still is very traumatic. But that meant I felt a little frustrated by the course. It seemed to encourage people to think they could fix the situation, when I don't think you can in a "first aid" situation. The good thing was that it encouraged people to talk. I was surprised there wasn't more discussion about referral pathways. For example to GPs.
