Really appreciate the tone that was set on what words to not use, how to speak to a person.

This course was highly valuable and provided critical insights into suicide awareness, prevention, and emergency intervention. These learnings are especially important at this time, given the noticeable rise in mental health challenges across our communities. Considering the recent completion of this foundational program, it would be extremely beneficial to have prompt access to the second-stage workshop to build on this knowledge and further strengthen our ability to respond effectively.

It was challenging, not realising how important suicide first aid is. It has opened my mind about preventing persons from suicide.

The course was not heavy, it was very very practical and precise

It made me think about myself alot more with my words and actions towards others and the problem. I will be a better helper to help solve the problems, using my listening skills more.

Today I felt affirmed in some work I already did around suicide knowledge. However there were many insightful moments, that made me realize that my language around the topic and my attitude towards people needs adjusting. I feel empowered, still a bit sad but RELIEVED to hear suicide is avoidable. "Thoughts do not mean actions."

I am now more readily equipped to work with or speak to someone who might be experiencing suicidal ideation. A very informative session.
