This was a really valuable training exercise. I have learned some new strategies and most importantly have increased my confidence. I have also been reassured that I handled a situation (not a suicide risk but a delicate mental health scenario) in an appropriate way.

I came on this course as a bit of a top up to help continue to gain confidence when talking about this subject with clients. I feel like I have left today with more knowledge and definitely more confidence. I really appreciate the time Donna took to deliver this today!

I came into the course because I have not felt equipped on occasions to support people with suicidal thoughts. This course has given me the confidence that I needed, to understand a bit more about what might be happening, how to communicate with them and to encourage me to not rush off the listening before trying to recommend an external organisation. I feel like I can make a better assessment during the conversation where the person is actually at which in turn gives me clarity over what signposting and support could be the most valuable. I can confidently give them more of me and my time without thinking I need to pass them on so quickly because I don't know.. which in turn could make a difference in itself.
