Making a difficult subject feel safe, approachable and manageable is the provider’s distinctive strength, according to attendees. They consistently praise knowledgeable, empathetic trainers who explain clearly, invite discussion and create supportive, non-judgemental spaces. Courses combine practical frameworks, realistic conversations, workbooks, videos and useful resources, with a well-judged pace and breaks. Attendees leave more confident about recognising risk, asking direct questions and supporting people in real situations at work and beyond.

Response: Dear Lisa, I am sorry to hear that the phone signal did not work at the venue. The room was booked by Buckinghamshire County Council as this was free training commissioned by them. I will feedback to the commissioners regarding your feedback and the need to display the Wifi Code clearly around the room. Very best wishes, Fiona

I have really enjoyed today, raised some issues of my own. Feel confident that I have dealt well with past encounters with suicidal people.

Response: Dear Heather, I am please to hear you enjoyed the training we provided. The subject is a sensitive one and can raise issues for people attending. I am pleased to hear that you have confidence in your past encounters. It is important that you also maintain your own self care and get the support needed when you feel it would be helpful. Remember also that Samaritans is for everyone not just those thinking about suicide, so if you find talking could be helpful their number is 116 123 (UK). Very best wishes, Fiona

A really good way of delivering a course, a good tutor and student interaction, with a degree of paired interaction.

Thoroughly enjoyed the whole work shop, found it intelligently and sympathetically delivered especially regarding the subject. Has had a profound and positive impact both professionally and personally on my understanding of the subject and encouraged my confidence.

Great course. I think as someone not trained in counselling maybe longer course needed in how to conduct conversations but it was only running out of time that did not allow this.

Response: Dear Sarah, Thank you for your kind comments about the course. I see what you are saying about not being trained in counselling, so a longer course might be needed. Our evidence suggests that this is a course for all people, supporting us to strengthen the everyday conversational skills we already have. This is why it is first aid, not therapy, I do hope it has supported your skills to strengthen and that you feel able to have a caring conversation should the need arise. Very best wishes, Fiona

thank you, this was a helpful and practical course.

It was an emotional subject And liked the content. However towards the end I felt it was rushed especially as the speaker mentioned we can’t try this and can’t do that as we don’t have time. That was a shame to me.
