Practical scenario work and repeated use of the ALGEE framework help attendees translate mental health first-aid principles into calm, supportive action. They value knowledgeable, empathetic trainers who create safe, inclusive discussions, maintain a clear pace and encourage learning from peers. The blended modules, videos, handbook and breakout exercises build understanding and confidence that transfers to work and personal situations, although some find the online manual awkward to navigate.

A great course, delivered very well. Good to have the online learning and then the discussion groups on the webinar to put learning into practice. Just one comment on having to have your camera on - I can appreciate why this is the case e.g. check people are OK, some people have reasons for not wanting cameras on all the time e.g. disability related

Found this course extremely useful and now would feel better prepared and more confident to broach the subject of mental health/mental illness with others. I recognise that i need to continue to update my knowledge on this subject as it is so important in my role. I found the exercises thought provoking and sometimes uncomfortable - but just because I didnt feel confident at that point to deal with situations. I know feel much better and more confident. I would also now feel more comfortable to challenge other peoples perceptions and to signpost them to resources which would allow them to extend their knowledge of mental health.

Very interesting and useful course. I thought the combination of the online self study and the webinar activities worked well. The webinars had a good variety of activities, videos, discussion, small group work, chat box which consolidated the work done on our own. Both facilitators were very clear in explanations.

A well thought out and nicely run course with plenty of time to discuss and space to feel welcome and safe. Well done to both instructors, I would recommend this course to everyone.
