Practical scenario work and repeated use of the ALGEE framework help attendees translate mental health first-aid principles into calm, supportive action. They value knowledgeable, empathetic trainers who create safe, inclusive discussions, maintain a clear pace and encourage learning from peers. The blended modules, videos, handbook and breakout exercises build understanding and confidence that transfers to work and personal situations, although some find the online manual awkward to navigate.

I found this course very interesting. So many facts to digest and very well presented. I enjoyed it immensely, especially the webinars where we had some constructive discussions. I look forward to using my newly-obtained skills in this area and hope I can play a part in someone's time of need.

It was an interesting course, the trainers were great and I feel a lot more confident in my abilities to approach and aid someone going through a mental health crisis. I enjoyed the group discussions and the talks afterwards which reinforced what I had learnend.

Response: Thank you Julie, it was a pleasure working with your group. I am so glad you found it enjoyable and useful.

The course instructors were excellent with the way they mashalled the group, involving all participants. There were many full on discussions about areas of mental health that I knew nothing about and I learnt a lot from the instructors and the other participants. We had a wide variety of participants from various walks of life and each person gave me something to think about and the course gave me a much better understanding of the complexities of mental health and not to be afraid of it.

Response: Thank you Kevin, it was a pleasure working with you, I am so glad you found the course informative.

This course is excellent. It provides a wealth of information to assist you in helping someone in crisis. The instructors were amazing. Knowledgeable, patient, encouraging, both shared experiences that enabled others to freely share their stories and experiences. They knew the course content well, explained it well, encouraged deeper thought into the subject and they controlled the programme with ease. They allowed plenty of time for discussion whilst also ensuring that time commitments were met. Both instructors were natural in their capability and their passion and knowledge for the subject matter was clear from the outset. Highly recommend!
