I really enjoyed the course and looking forward to to trying the training in practice
I had concerns about the course due to personal experience of losing someone very close to suicide and I expressed this at the start of the course as I felt I may feel overwhelmed or upset and need to leave. The trainer was really sympathetic to this and gave me the opportunity to turn off my camera or pop out if I needed that space and time to process what I was feeling. This made me feel more comfortable and although at times I still felt my emotions coming through, I continued with the course.
Highly useful and informative and done in a good manner for such a sensitive subject.
Yes, a good course that made me more aware of all the facts around suicide and may stop me feeling powerless if I am ever in the position of having to engage with a possible suicide.
Incredible delivery by Joel, he has a very natural way of teaching a course. The course was structured very well, giving us the fundamental basics first and building that up. I liked that I coud make bullet point notes, which are readable because Joel gave the steps, step by step. Every attendee was encouraged to talk, so we were all inclusive. This goes a long way on a course, as not everyone is confident on screen. Joel explained it is a sensitive subject and if anyone needs 5 minutes out that they can, this was really important for a course which can be close to peoples heart. I have always been a good listener and many people come to me to talk. I am more confident though if it comes to suicidal thoughts/ideation/intent.
A good thought provoking course which gives added skills to someone when faced with this situation
Great course - something that everyone should do
