RRN Level 3: Restrictive Physical Intervention reviews

4.9 (6,216 reviews)
AI summary of reviews

Practical, safety-focused learning is the course’s defining strength: attendees say it links clear theory on positive behaviour support, de-escalation, law, dignity and least-restrictive practice to step-by-step demonstrations, realistic scenarios and repeated practice. They value knowledgeable, patient and approachable trainers who use humour, lived experience and feedback to keep demanding subjects engaging, inclusive and easy to understand. The well-organised sessions build confidence that transfers directly to supporting children, patients and service users at work, although some find the theory lengthy.

Recently attended the 3 day PBS course delivered by Andy and I have thoroughly enjoyed it and learnt a lot! I have previously received similar training through another organisation but this was next level training, very thorough and fun. Andy was super engaging, very funny and very accommodating and considerate. Thank you!!

Jack was informative, personable and responsive to the enquiries and requests of the team. His annecdotes made the theory feel familiar and digestible. The course itself was informative and I appreciated the links and references to reputable sources and research, which was reassuring and added to my feeling of competence.

Excellent knowledge and expertise from trainer. Very tailored and adaptable to our needs and school. Very friendly trainer who created sense of ease, considering we are learning physical interventions it could have felt uncomfortable but didn’t. Finished course feeling that I can support children appropriately and safely with restraint as last resort.

Informative, engaging and useful. Would be good if there was more reference to DofE guidance Restrictive interventions, including use of reasonable force, in schools Guidance for schools in England rather than predominantly social care settings. Would also be helpful if the workbook was updated to reflect all the slides as felt some of the key info was missing from the workbook. Generally brilliant course which will Inform practice going forward.
