RRN Level 3: Restrictive Physical Intervention reviews

4.9 (6,216 reviews)
AI summary of reviews

Practical, safety-focused learning is the course’s defining strength: attendees say it links clear theory on positive behaviour support, de-escalation, law, dignity and least-restrictive practice to step-by-step demonstrations, realistic scenarios and repeated practice. They value knowledgeable, patient and approachable trainers who use humour, lived experience and feedback to keep demanding subjects engaging, inclusive and easy to understand. The well-organised sessions build confidence that transfers directly to supporting children, patients and service users at work, although some find the theory lengthy.

Ben is an INCREDIBLE trainer and asset to Sherwood Training. It was clear how passionate he is about the work that he does and the importance of effective restraint reduction. His anecdotes allowed us to apply understanding of the theory he was teaching as well as having high expectations in the practical element of the training.

This has been an enlightening course which surely will translate in better support to the people we work with. The contents delivered were spot on and very well broken into chunks. Ben was amazing in delivering the course, great rapport and extremely knowledgeable. Many thanks to Ben and all the team. Great work!

I had real trepidation regarding the nature of and my previous awareness of restraint/physical intervention when behaviour of concern is presented. Day 1 completely alleviated this worry, the ethos, approach and consideration of the young person is understood at all levels and Ben reiterated this throughout. Fantastic training and perfectly pitched for our school.

I enjoyed the course.Ben was approachable and engaging. He kept me interested across the 3 days. He made the course insightful and delivered it in insightful way. I was aware of some of the contents covered in the course but it was good to hear it in a different format and also to refresh my knowledge. The restraint skills really surprised me as I thought they would be much harder to carry out. I feel confident that I could use the holds in my role.

I found this course extremely helpful on the leading up to RI, and it can be prevented and the safe way of restraint for both the resident and myself.

Aside from maybe some slightly outdated material (2017/18 and pre COVID numbers) the material was good and Sean was engaging and answered questions well and with good clarity.
