RRN Level 3: Restrictive Physical Intervention reviews

4.9 (6,216 reviews)
AI summary of reviews

Practical, safety-focused learning is the course’s defining strength: attendees say it links clear theory on positive behaviour support, de-escalation, law, dignity and least-restrictive practice to step-by-step demonstrations, realistic scenarios and repeated practice. They value knowledgeable, patient and approachable trainers who use humour, lived experience and feedback to keep demanding subjects engaging, inclusive and easy to understand. The well-organised sessions build confidence that transfers directly to supporting children, patients and service users at work, although some find the theory lengthy.

The course was really useful. The course materials linked really clearly back to the arousal model which was really helpful in ensuring we understood the importance of antecedent manipulation, our primary and secondary strategies, and how it’s so important to know our learners. I really appreciated the level of theory which helped to foreground the practical elements of the training, and it was very clear it is used as a last resort. I felt able to ask as many questions as I wanted which was useful too.

Response: Thank you for such a thoughtful and insightful reflection. It’s brilliant to hear that the course materials clearly supported your understanding of the arousal model and helped reinforce the importance of knowing your learners. That connection between theory and practice is something we really value, so it’s great to know it came through clearly. Your comments about antecedent manipulation and strategy use show a deep engagement with the content, and we’re especially glad the training environment felt open enough for you to ask questions freely. That kind of curiosity and confidence is exactly what we hope to foster. Thank you again for sharing your experience.

Liam was really good, very thorough and supportive. Lots of detail and kind. Learnt a lot as my first RPI training. Thanks :)

Great delivery, made very relevant to our setting. Liam was a great trainer with excellent knowledge and ability to pass that knowledge on. Easy to understand the content and the theory behind it all.
