1 Day - Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work Requalification (RQF)

Description

This is a blended learning course consisting of the following:
4 hours pre course learning via our GCG LMS
8 hours traditional classroom session

This is a blended course The First Aid at Work Re-qualification course re-validates the First Aid at Work certificate you will already hold for a further three years. This qualification (FAW) is the re-qualification for the First Aid at Work course which is the highest qualification for a workplace First Aider. Its syllabus was initially designed in consultation with the HSE, and today is developed by Green Cross Trainings own group of lead First Aid trainers. The course has been designed to meet the requirements laid out as part of RQF Level 3 you will receive a TQUK Level 3/6 RQF certificate, valid for three years. The course includes scenario training for a several workplace First Aid incidents and provides the learner the skills they need to manage and take control of a First Aid accident at work.

What you will learn

- Understand the role and responsibilities of the first aider
- Be able to assess an emergency situation safely
- Be able to provide first aid for casualty who is unresponsive and breathing normally
- Be able to provide first aid for a casualty who is suffering a seizure
- Be able to provide first aid for a casualty who is unresponsive and not breathing normally
- Be able to place AED pads correctly Understand how to provide first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock
- Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding
- Be able to manage a casualty with a minor injury
- Be able to recognise a casualty who is choking

- Be able to conduct a secondary survey
- Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with injuries to bones, muscles and joints
- Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with suspected head and spinal injuries
- Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with suspected chest injuries
- Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with burns and scalds
- Explain the factors that affect the severity of burns and scalds
- Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with an eye injury
- Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with sudden poisoning
- Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with anaphylaxis
- Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with suspected major illness
