This was by far the worst CLTI course I have taken; it just felt nebulous and badly structured. The course material was often unnecessarily convoluted. In contrast, the online workshops were superficial, but the discussions around practice questions frequently digressed into irrelevant tangents. Several participants enquired about the examiners’ expectations, but no definitive answers were provided, which was frustrating. This issue is compounded by the examiners being unwilling to provide model answers, answer rubrics or a breakdown of marks, which limits transparency and clarity. Even though I passed, this course made me disappointed that CLTI has a monopoly over STEP exam education. Don’t waste your time or money if you have another option.

As an entry level learner, I found the content and the teaching approach are too academic and theoretical. To some extent, it's hard to understand the teaching content and study material. It would be better to adopt a more practical approach rather than a rigid theoretical frameworks for the entry level learner. On top of that , the website is not user friendly and old fashion from user experience perspective. For the inquires, we are unable to recieve the prompt response in a timely manner which caused the delay and inconvenience.

I failed the exam after putting a lot of study in. I completed all the past papers and attended all study days. Having passed the previous 2 modules I don't know how I failed. I think it must be something to do with the teaching and the lack of tutor contact. I'm appalled that there is no follow up or specific coaching for those that failed. As a result I'm not confident about my resit. I think that this is a failing in how the course is delivered and reflects badly on STEP and CLTI.
