The slides were very basic, had lots of spelling mistakes in them. The course was easy to sign up to online and to get the certificate through. Pre ious courses we have been given guide books and when passed first aider pin badges and pocket masks, nothing like that was given out on this course which is a shame. The instructor was ok but I felt like he didn’t have an order or direction to how he taught things and would often flick about the topics. He also finished each of the first two days at 2pm after only starting at 9am and the 3rd day finished at 11:30. I have done various courses in the past and if I had been a first timer to first aid would not have felt confident after having done this course.

To much emphasis is paid to writing or classroom work making some students feel uncomfortable. When it should be more hands on and practical work I feel the course is drifting away from giving practical first aid in an emergency. Do I really need to know how many chambers are in the hart what the left or right atrium or ventricular does and be forced to spell all these words correctly in front of a classroom without being ridiculed please let’s get back to basics I’m a contractor not a consultant many of my colleagues fell the same way if this is the direction it is going maybe it’s not for me

Too much emphasis is given to writing and classroom work.when in an emergency I want to know what to do and how to do it . We need more hands on and practical skills I feel the course is drifting away from reality I need to react in an emergency. Do i really need to know how many chambers are in the heart and what the left and right ventricular and atrium function are I’m a contractor not a consultant and to get in front of a classroom draw and spell all this without being ridiculed is very difficult and stressful . all my colleagues felt the same we need to get back to basics I’ve been a first aider for several years but maybe it’s time to call it a day . Or get back to basics and make it enjoyable again

Trainer was brill, made things enjoyable as much as possible and everyone had a great time learning what we needed to know. I’ve been on many of these courses over the course of my career and never learnt as much! Thank you!

I have done many first aid courses over the years, but I thought the practical uses of auto-injectors & defibrilators was particularly useful. I have already seen a couple of incidents at work & am glad that I complerwd this course so recently.
