The course led by Peter Slater was brilliant, informative and enlightening. I loved the pace and analysis of the work that we needed to cover and I left feeling well-prepared and ready to take the exam.
James Selley was my assessor and he couldn't have been more helpful during the course, nothing was too much to ask and he was very knowledgeable on the subject and exam layout.
I had the pleasure of having Linda Press as my tutor and I couldn't recommend her more, even through the first lockdown Linda was committed in providing me the best support via facetime/telephone and I couldn't have progressed and succeeded as much as I have without her! I passed my RO1 exam within 3 months and continued to finish my apprenticeship with a distinction, my full apprenticeship was completed within 14 months and I couldn't be happier with the results!
Once again, very happy with the course and trainer. Jim was great and made the content easy to follow and understand. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for effective and easy way to learn. As I am not great at self studying the classroom environment was perfect for me. After attending the course for 5 days I sat my last 2 exams on Monday and Tuesday and had no issues passing at all. We were suggested to read the course material before attending the course, I read section one in 3 1/2 hours. The tutor Paul Valpy took four days to go through section one it was appallingly slow. On the final day he started section two which is equivalent to half the exam questions by giving out a “ cheat sheet” of 30 correct answers saying we should learn the answers . I feel I’ve been conned by Simply Academy.
Response: Dear Geoff I’m sorry you thought it necessary to complain. Mr Valpy's been presenting CeMAP training for well over twenty years, and he’s method of delivery and style predominately stands the test of time in terms of first time examination success. The purpose of spending so much time on Unit 1 is that it does need to be trained and not just read through. Unit 2 is a quite different scenario in that it is primarily a read and remember arrangement. While Unit 2 represents 50% of the required marks it is quite a bit smaller than Unit 1 and some material ports from Unit 1. Mr Valpy’s training style therefore encourages candidates to keep focused and involved whilst building on many of the topics discussed in Unit 1 to create a picture. Having used this process for many years it is a proven strategy. Once again I am sorry you felt the need to comment in such a way, should you need any further support do feel free to get in touch.
I am very satisfied and happy with the course overall and the trainer David Beever was brilliant and very helpful throughout the course.
I found the course helpful. The trainer was very inspiring. There was lots of homework! Lovely place to learn and great resources.
Pete was brilliant, funny (in an unconventional way) and made the subject matter interesting and engaging. I haven't yet done my exam but I am not worried about it now as Pete gave me the knowledge and the confidence I needed. I'm really happy with the course and how it was taught.
