Exercises were good and facilitator was great. There was some overlap in the assessment booklet which wasn't particularly time-efficient or effective.

I thought the course was incredibly beneficial, both from gaining more knowledge about common mental illnesses/ symptoms and also knowledge about how to approach these topics with people who may be dealing with them in any capacity. The course did well not to "sugar coat" any of the issues and went through the realities of them in-depth. Although the course content did get very tough to listen to at times (as expected), the course instructor was very understanding of this and allowed the participants to leave the room/ take a break when we needed and return when we were ready- this was much appreciated. I felt that the course structure could have been made a little clearer over both days at the start of the course just to be able to see the overall themes/ things we would cover over the two days to be able to prepare myself a bit better. For example just letting us know that the first day would be more informational and the second day would include more of how to have the conversations about those topics would have been helpful. The materials we were given were incredibly helpful and great quality content- although we didn't read through the whole manual/ do all exercises in the workbook, the main and important topics were discussed in detail and important pages for further reading were highlighted. The instructor was happy to use/ share personal experiences to help demonstrate the realities of some of the topics we were learning about; although he didn't have to, this was very helpful in being able to visualise what some of these conditions might look like in real life. He was also happy for us to share our experiences and the group/ room felt like it was a safe space to be able to do so, but never pushed or forced us to share our own experiences. Overall a great course, informative and very hard hitting, but I feel much better equipped now to help others tackle some of the issues they may be facing and to be able to ask some difficult questions that might help to improve the lives or wellbeing of others.
Response : Many thanks for such a thorough response . I really appreciate your thoughts and input . Look after yourself !

The text book and activities were good and the tutor was very knowledgable. My only critisim would be that the slides were all very similar so towards the end of the course it did feel a bit repetitive.

It was not always easy to hear Wendy. My main concern with the course contents was the emphasis on youth rather than adult. Many of the videos and scenarios related to 'school pupils' rather than adults - many students are not 18 years old when they start course but considerably older
