Really good course, great instructor. My only comment would be that there should be another section explaining how the MHFA person should look after themselves. Helping people with mental illness can be really upsetting and draining to the extent that your own MH could suffer as a result. I appreciate that having the Samaritans contact button there to help is a good thing; but maybe the last section should be about self help and mindfulness, especially if there has been a death or serious injury to someone that the MHFA person has been trying to help.

The course was delivered very well by Steve and the topics covered were eye opening, especially around psychosis and substance misuse, which was something I didn't have much knowledge around. The use of videos and shared experiences was also beneficial and helped create good topics of discussion. It would be beneficial if eating disorders could be considered for the adult MHFA course, as this would be an interesting area to look at and discuss. Also, if training is to be continued online, a shorter time between the sessions would be useful. Within 2 weeks it can be difficult to remember everything learnt in the first session ready for the second.

Ellender was an inspirational presenter. Her passion on the topic of MHFA was evident from webinar 1. She is an amazing advocate. The course was excellent and I have learnt so much. I hope to attend more courses in the future. Thank you.
