Tim was an excellent tutor; he patiently answered all my random questions without making me feel silly, he was very encouraging and worked hard to make sure we all felt ready and confident for the tests. He even treated us to some banjo playing at the end of the course! Being a woman in a traditionally male dominated environment I was never once made to feel out of place or awkward. From day 1 all of the staff made me feel very welcome and relaxed.

Steve was a great instructor, with him still both working and teaching in this field, added a level of confidence and information that would be hard to surpass. I now feel very confident in my steps forward and the additional information that Steve provided will help me in my future career.

It's tempting to be negative about this, but the tutor did a very good job in the time available to him. The problem is that it's not really enough. It's five days, of which much of the fourth and basically all of the fifth is taken up sitting exams. So you've essentially got three days' teaching, with only a couple of hours dedicated to the practical assessment. Most of the contact time is devoted to prepping for the theory exam - all well and good: none of it's rocket science but the pass mark is 75% and C&G's questions can be equivocal and oddly worded, so don't underestimate it. You can see the problem, though: without previous, relevant experience you're not going to be prepared for the practical. If you're a practicing electrician or you happen to have done the test procedures before - even just once or twice - then it's fine. But if you're new to testing and inspection, then there's a good chance you're going to find yourself in the situation I was in: carrying out the tests and filling in the forms for essentially the first time in your life, under exam conditions with the clock ticking. It's not a nice experience!

Tutor had in depth knowledge of the subject and had been in the industry for many years prior so could answer an vast amount of questions and relate it to field experience. I've come away learning a great deal. Any questions were answered, anything not understood was explained again patiently and the small class sizes made it a comfortable learning environment.

COURSE: VERY WORTHWHILE COURSE AND I FEEL THAT I NOW HAVE A BASIC UNDERSTANDING OF PLCs AND LADDER STYLE PROGRAMMING. ENOUGH TO PERHAPS DIAGNOSE FAULTY PROGRAMS OR EVEN START MY OWN SMALL SCALE PROJECTS. VENUE: VERY GOOD LOCATION AND SERVICES PROVIDED. AS A SMALL BIT OF FEEDBACK ABOUT THE FOOD PROVIDED AN ADDITION OF MORE VEGETARIAN OPTIONS SUCH AS (V) SALADS OR WRAPS WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED
