The Faraday Centre P3 Advanced Protection course was strongly focused on the practical application of transformer protection rather than extended theoretical coverage. The course provided hands-on experience in configuring and validating protection settings on ABB, Schneider, SEL, and Siemens relays. Exercises covered key transformer and feeder protection functions. The practical approach to navigating different relay platforms and implementing equivalent protection philosophies across multiple manufacturers was particularly valuable. This significantly improved my understanding of how protection principles are translated into vendor-specific settings and logic. It was good to work on different switchgear in the practical area, different switching procedures for the switching schedule was useful and I will take it into my schedule for the future, overall Gary was very knowledgeable and approachable for when I wasn’t sure on a procedure , really enjoyed the course
